Rehearsals started for DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET? last week. It’s been incredibly exciting. This is Actors Rep’s biggest project to date and we’re certain audiences will experience a great show.
Actors Rep regulars Rhona Richards (GREYHOUNDS) and Timothy Lone (THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA? and LOVE LETTERS) lead the cast and are joined by Sarah Lamesch, a Luxembourg actress now living in London, who is making her Actors Rep debut. Also in the cast are Christine Probst (GREYHOUNDS and FLOWERS IN THE DESERT) and Gilbert K. Johnston, who was also in the Shakespeare evening we did for the British Embassy in January.
It is an amazing cast and I feel extremely privileged as a director to be working with them all. We had a great first week reading and discussing the play around a table. Today (Monday, February 1) we started working on our feet. I love watching good actors rehearse and trying to help guide them through the journey of the play — especially with a play that is as rich and well-written as this one. Seeing Daniel Pinkerton’s beautiful script come to life before me is fantastic.
We open on March 9, at the Mierscher Kulturhaus in Mersch. They are co-producing with us. It’s a beautiful theatre and we’re very excited about working in it. (For the next few weeks, we’re rehearsing in nearby Reckange.)
