2016 marks the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare and events celebrating his life and works are taking place worldwide. At Actors Rep we love Shakespeare and are always keen to strut our stuff with a bit of ‘the Bard’.

So, we were very excited to be given the opportunity to perform an evening of Shakespeare  for the British Ambassador, Hon Alice Walpole. The Ambassador completes her tenure in Luxembourg at the end of January and decided that a celebration of Britain’s greatest writer would be a fitting way to bid farewell to her colleagues and friends in the Duchy.

We’ve chosen to include some of Shakespeare’s best loved characters.  The audience will be treated to rehearsed readings from Richard II, Hamlet, Othello, As You Like It, King Lear, Henry V, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, The Comedy of Errors, and A Midsummer Nights Dream.

And, we’re delighted that we’re being joined for the evening by local actors Larisa Faber and Gilbert K.Johnston and, from the UK, Michael Grady-Hall.

Unfortunately, the event, which takes place on 21st January 2016, is by invitation only. However, do check out the local press and our blog for reviews and photos from the night.
